Energy inyour direction.
Solar and energy systems for Auckland homes and businesses, designed around your property and the way it actually uses power.
Clear advice before any equipment is chosen.
Solward brings commercial understanding and electrical expertise to solar and energy decisions. We start with your property and how you use power, then work through the options clearly.
Every system is sized against a real roof, a real switchboard and a real power bill. We set out what the numbers assume, what the install involves and where the trade-offs sit, so the decision stays yours to make with the full picture in front of you.
Generate. Store. Supply.
Three parts of one system. Each builds on the last, and you can start at any point.
Generate
Solar generation, with a panel layout and inverter designed for your roof, its shading and your daily load rather than a standard package.
Store
Battery storage matched to how and when you use power, so the system holds what you generate and covers the hours that matter to you.
Supply
The direction we are building towards: owned generation paired with contracted electricity supply, so one relationship covers the whole picture.
Generation and storage are available now. Energy supply is in development and is not yet an offered service.
How a Solward project runs.
Four stages, each with a clear output you can read before the next one starts.
Site visit
Roof, orientation, shading, switchboard and meter. We look at your last few bills alongside it.
Written proposal
Layout, equipment, scope and price, with every assumption behind an estimate set out in its own section.
Install
Scheduled work by a licensed electrician, with the property left tidy and the system commissioned properly.
Handover
Monitoring set up, documentation handed over, and a walk through what the first months of data will show.
Solar designed around your home.
Start with how you use power through the day. We look at your roof, your bill and your plans for the property.
ResidentialMake your roof work for your business.
Commercial sites carry load through daylight hours, which is where solar tends to make the clearest case.

Answer a few questions and we will come back with a site visit time and a written proposal.
Residential
Solar designedaround your home.
Start with how you use power through the day. The system follows from there.
Shape a system for your home.
An indicative starting point, not a quote. Move the inputs and the shape of the system moves with them.
Across the year, including the daily fixed charge.
Main roof direction
A north-facing pitch collects the most over a New Zealand year.
Power use during the day
Power used as it is generated is worth more than power exported.
Battery storage
A battery shifts daytime generation into the evening peak.

- An Auckland yield of about 1,350 kWh per kW installed each year, before shading.
- An average retail rate of 32c per kWh and a daily fixed charge of about $1.90.
- An unshaded, structurally suitable roof with room for the full layout.
- A battery round-trip efficiency of about 90% and a usable depth of about 90%.
What a home system includes.
Specified in writing before anything is ordered.
Panel layout
A roof plan showing panel placement, string design and how the layout works around vents, skylights and shading.
Inverter and switchboard
Inverter sizing, isolation, and any switchboard work needed to bring the installation up to standard.
Battery and backup
Storage sized to your evening load, with the option of a backup circuit set out clearly if you want one.
Monitoring
App-based monitoring configured at handover so you can see generation, use and export from day one.
Questions we get asked first.
It reduces what you buy from the grid, and the size of that reduction depends on how much you use during daylight, your retail rate and what your system exports. We model it with your own bills and show the assumptions, rather than quoting a headline figure.
Not necessarily. A battery makes the clearest case when a good share of your use falls outside daylight hours, or when you want cover through an outage. If your load sits mostly in the middle of the day, solar alone may be the better spend.
Most residential installs are a one to two day job on site, with grid connection paperwork running alongside. We give you the dates in the proposal and confirm them before ordering equipment.
Mounting is selected for your roof type and fixed to the structure, not just the cladding. We check the framing at the site visit and flag anything that needs attention before the install is scheduled.
Usually yes, and it is worth deciding early. If you expect an EV, a heat pump or a battery later, we can size the inverter and cabling now so the addition is straightforward rather than a rebuild.

A visit, a look at your bills, and a written proposal you can read at your own pace.
Commercial
Make your roofwork for your business.
Commercial load sits in daylight hours. That is where solar makes its clearest case, and where the numbers are easiest to hold to account.
Where a commercial system earns its place.
A typical weekday: your building draws power through the working day, and generation lands over the same hours.
The shaded area is generation your building uses as it is produced. For most commercial sites this is the largest part of the case, before export is counted.
What we put in front of a decision maker.
Enough to take to a board, a landlord or an accountant without translation.
Load analysis
Half-hourly interval data where it is available, so the system is sized against how the site actually behaves rather than a monthly average.
Scope and price
Equipment, structural allowances, electrical work, connection and commissioning, itemised and priced, with exclusions named.
Commercial case
Indicative return modelled on your own rates, with every assumption listed separately so your team can test them.
Delivery plan
Staging, access, roof and safety requirements, and how we keep the site operating through the install.
Sites that tend to suit solar.
Large, simple roof planes over a business that runs in daylight hours.
Light industrial and warehousing, trade and manufacturing premises, cool stores and food production, offices with steady daytime load, retail and hospitality with long trading hours, and horticultural or rural sites with irrigation and processing load.
Leasehold sites are workable too, and the lease term and make-good position are things we raise at the first conversation rather than at contract.
Talk about a commercial site.
Send us the address and a recent invoice, and we will come back with a first read before any site visit.
About
Towardsthe sun.
Solward joins sol, the Latin word for sun, with ward, meaning in a direction. The name carries the intent: movement towards the sun, and a more deliberate approach to energy.
A category that can feel technical and transactional.
Solward exists to make solar and energy decisions legible. Clear advice, considered system design, accountable delivery.
For homeowners and businesses making long-term energy decisions, we bring commercial understanding and electrical expertise together, with systems shaped around the property and the way it uses power. We would rather explain a trade-off than sell around it.
Two brothers.
The brand started with complementary experience in one family.
One side brings property, customers and commercial direction. The other brings electrical expertise and technical delivery. It means the person who scopes your system and the person who installs it answer to each other, and the work stays visible from the first site visit to commissioning.
Connor
Property, customers and commercial direction. First point of contact, site visits and proposals.
Electrical delivery
System design, installation and technical sign-off, carried out by a licensed electrician.
How we work.
Four habits that shape every proposal we send.
Clear
Explain the options and the next step in plain language, including the parts that are less convenient.
Assured
Let the design, the scope and the evidence support the claim. No guaranteed savings, no absolutes.
Human
Speak directly to the customer and take responsibility when something needs to be put right.
Practical
Connect every feature back to the way you actually use energy, not to a spec sheet.
Generation and storage today. Energy supply is the direction we are building towards.
We publish a service when it is available, not before. Solar generation and battery storage are what we deliver now; contracted electricity supply is in development.
Auckland, and the properties around it.
Send us an address and we will tell you honestly whether the site suits solar.
Start a proposal
Tell us aboutthe property.
Four short steps. Everything you enter builds the brief on the right, which we turn into a site visit and a written proposal.
What kind of property is it?
This sets how we read the roof and the load.
Where is it?
An address lets us look at the roof before we visit.
How do you use power?
A rough figure is fine. Bills come later.
Who should we come back to?
We reply with a site visit time and what to have ready.
Sending opens your email app with the brief filled in, so you can see exactly what reaches us before it goes.
Your brief is ready to send.
If your email app did not open, copy the brief from the panel and send it to hello@solward.co.nz. We reply within one working day.
